The Wald & Schlosshotel Friedrichsruhe is a paradise for all lovers of golf. Just 100 meters from the hotel, you will find the 27-hole course of the Heilbronn-Hohenlohe e.V golf club. Guests of the hotel play without tee times and receive a reduced green fee.
The well-kept, park-like space integrates harmoniously into the Hohenlohe landscape – an elegant liaison of sport and nature. Fast, well-defended greens, water hazards of all sizes, varied fairways and well-placed tee-offs provide the sporting challenge.
The championship course offers 27 varied course combinations with 27 fairways. The “Schlosspark” course (par 35) is characterized by its old trees, “Limes” (par 36) impresses with short walkways and “Friedrichsruhe” (par 37) is certainly the most athletic demanding part of the course. Each combination has its own appeal. The offer is complemented by a generous driving range, a putting and a pitching green. With the opening of the Golf Academy in June 2010, eight covered tees were created on the driving range. These provide protection against rain and snow, and in cool or icy temperatures, the switchable radiant heaters provide a pleasant training atmosphere.
The golf academy “Golf in Balance” was opened in the Golf Club Heilbronn-Hohenlohe in the summer of 2010. Under the direction of Mark Mattheis, one of the most renowned trainers in Germany, the Akademiehaus offers a golf training with state-of-the-art equipment.
Together with the integrated training concept developed by Mark Mattheis, even beginners can develop into good golfers in a short time. Four pros are available for training sessions and courses. Using an ultrasound and a radar system as well as high-speed cameras, the stroke technique and the exact speed can be measured and then analyzed together with a trainer. Two covered tees make this possible in any weather.
The use of the academy house takes place exclusively over a booked trainer.
The gentle hilly landscape, green avenues, wildly romantic river valleys, blooming rapeseed fields, vineyards and forests – the region around Friedrichsruhe is also called “Swabian Tuscany”. In addition to the idyllic landscape attract a variety of attractive destinations in the Hohenloher country, for example, the monastery Schöntal, the magnificent Renaissance Schloss Neuenstein or lying high above the Jagst Castle Langenburg with the “German Automuseum”. A tip for art and culture lovers is the medieval town of Schwäbisch Hall with one of the most beautiful marketplaces in Germany, many cultural highlights such as the Kunsthalle Würth or the famous open-air plays on the outside staircase of the city church of St. Michael.
The region of Hohenlohe has also made a name for itself as a country of enjoyment, for example with Boeuf de Hohenlohe or Schwäbisch-Hällischem Ham. By the way: Numerous organic and Demeter farms sell their delicious products in their farm shops.
